Abstract
Fragile histidine triad(FHIT) gene is a candidate tumor suppressor gene, the suppressor may be achieved through the induction of apoptosis. In a variety of tumors in particular, environmental carcinogens are often caused by tumors of the FHIT gene abnormalities.FHIT gene may control the cell cycle, apoptosis induced by tumor play a role in the mechanism of its inactivation is mainly expressed in the promoter region of CPG island methylation, deletion and abnormal transcription. The article witl introduce the FHIT gene and the occurrence of esophageal cancer, development, treatment and prognosis and other aspects were reviewed.
