Abstract

This study was carried out to analyze the genetic diversity of maize inbred lines and to study genetic structure of germplasm population in order to provide the theoratical basis for preparing dominant hybrid seed.The genetic diversity for 96 maize inbred lines were analyzed by using 108 pairs of SSR primers.The population genetic structure were assessed on target groups by using STRUCTURE software.Setting subsets(K) for 1-9,using △K(k) to determine the most suitable value of K,and then to generate the Q-matrix.SSR analysis showed that 108 primers produced 472 polymorphic amplified fragments.The average number of alleles per SSR locus was 4.37 with a range from 2 to 9.Assessment of population structure showed that the most appropriate K=2,namely,there were 2 sub-groups in the Target population.
