Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the chemical constituents of petroleum ether extract fraction from the fruits of Ligustrum lucidum.METHODS Chemical constituents were isolated by various chromatographic techniques,and their structures were identified on the basis of spectroscopic data and physico-chemical properties.RESULTS Eleven compounds were isolated and identified,including(132-S)-hydroxyphaeophytin a(1),(132-R)-hydroxyphaeophytin a(2),β-sitosterol(3),stigmasterol(4),betulinic acid(5),(E)-3β,20-dihydroxy-25-perhydroxydammar-23-ene(6),20(S)-3β,20-dihydroxy-24-perhydroxydammar-25-ene(7),acetyloleanolic acid(8),oleanolic acid(9),lupeol(10),and betulin(11).CONCLUSION Compounds 1-5 were isolated from this plant for the first time.
