Lichtenstein's tension free repair for inguinal hernia in adult patients

Abstract

Objective To analyze Lichtenstein's procedure and postoperative complication in adult patients with inguinal hernia.Methods The experience of 381 patients with variant types of inguinal hernia was received 405 Lichtenstein's tension free repair in recent 6 years.Results After the meantime of 4 years follow up in 89% cases,recurrence was found only 1 case,superficial wound infection in 4 cases and the patient's complaint of pain was slight postoperatively.Conclusion Lichtenstein's tension free repair is applicable to variant type of adult patients with inguinal hernia with the lower postoperative pain and recurrent, and cheaper than Rutkow plug procedure.
