The experience of lichtenstein's tension free repair for inguinal hernia in 42 adult patients

Objective To summarize the experience of Lichtenstein's procedure in adult patients with inguinal hernia.Methods The clinical data of 42 patients with variant types of inguinal hernia receiving Lichtenstein's tension free repairs were analyzed retrospectively.Results The patients left hospital after 6.5 days(mean),all the cases in this group were follow-up(average 7 month),one patient recurred.The postoperative pain was mild.Scrotal swelling and urinary retention occurred in 6 cases and 10 cases respectively.No incisional infection or complication occurred.Conclusion Lichtenstein's tension free repair is applicable to variant type of adult patients with inguinal hernia with mild postoperative pain and lower recurrent rate.
