Study of the Prevention of Maimendong Decoction on Radio-pulmonary Lesion in Rats

Objective To explore the prevention of maimendong decoction on radio-pulmonary lesion.Methods 72 healthy female adult Wistar rats of clean grade were randomly divided into a blank control group,a simple irradiation group and an irradiation plus Chinese medicine group.The gastric infusion with distilled water was applied in blank control group and simple irradiation group.The gastric infusion with Chinese medicine was applied in irradiation plus Chinese medicine group,2 mL·200 g-1 each day,for one week.During modeling,according to the dose above,the gastric infusion with distilled water or Chinese medicine was kept one.Separately,in the 5th,12th and 26th weeks of modeling,the general situation,the pulmonary coefficient,the general situation of pulmonary tissue and HE staining were detected for the rats.Results Since the 2nd week of modeling for the rats,some symptoms such as listlessness presented,which got worse with the increase of irradiation frequency.But Chinese medicine presented the antagonism on these changes.In the 5th week of modeling,the pulmonary confidence was higher apparently than that discovered in the normal rats.Maimendong decoction could block the increase of pulmonary confidence for the modeled rats.It was discovered under microscope for the gross anatomic structure and after HE straining that the radioactive irradiation induced inflammatory reaction and fibrosis of pulmonary tissue for the rats.Maimendong decoction might relieve those changes.Conclusion Maimendong Decoction has the good effect on the prevention of radio-pulmonary lesion.
