Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the clinical effect of a recently developed root canal filling with GuttaFlow. Method: one hundred and twenty teeth with acute and chronic/ periapical disease/ acute and chronic puplpitis were randomly divid-ed into 2 groups (n=60). The root canals were instrumented and obturated with cold laterally compacted gutta-percha and zinc-oxide eugend sealer (group1) and with GuttaFlow technique (group2). The patients were recalled and observed after 7 days to 6 months. Result: There were significant differences of radiography between the 2 groups. After 6 months were no significant differences between GuttaFlow and cold laterally compacted techniques. Conclusion: GuttaFlow technique showed a similar clinical effect to cold laterally compacted technique and can be acceptable for root canal filling, but the long term clinical result is needed to be investigated.
