Abstract
Objective To explore the value of Risperidone in the treatment of depression with Venlafaxine Hydrochloride. Methods This study adopted simple randomized controlled design.Totally 164 patients met the term of depression of the diagnostic criteria of mental disorders of china were randomly assigned to research group and control group. The research group was treated by Venlafaxine Hydrochloride combined with Risperidone;the control group took Venlafaxine Hydrochloride only. Each group had 82 patients for 4 weeks treatment. The Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD) and the treatment emergent symptom scale(TESS) were used to evaluate the treatment effects and the side effects of the two groups before the treatment and after 1、2、and 4 weeks of treatment. Results After 4 weeks treatment, the HAMD scores in the research group were decreased significantly [(11.57±7.25) vs.(15.65±7.18),P=0.0004];the apparent efficiency in the research group was higher than the control group [(31.71%) vs.(16.25%),P=0.0343];There was no significant change of TESS between the two groups [(3.58±1.53) vs.(3.56±1.46),P=0.9323].Conclusion Venlafaxine Hydrochloride combined with Risperidone is effective and safe in the treatment of depression.
