Abstract
Objective To investigate the correlation between the lipoprotein lipase Ser 447Ter polymorphism and cerebral hemorrhage. Methods The genotype and allele frequencies of LPL Ser 447Ter polymorphism were determined in 313 cases with cerebral hemorrhage and 351 normal controls by PCR-RFLP. The serum lipid and lipoprotein levels were measured by routine method. Results The LPL Ser 447Ter genotype distribution in the cerebral hemorrhage group studied was CC 85.6% , CG 14.1% and GG 0.3% ,respectively. There was no significant difference in LPL Ser 447Ter allele and genotype distribution between the cerebral hemorrhage group and the control group (P0.05). But the level of serum triglyceride, ApoB and LP(a) in LPL CG or GG carriers was lower than that in LPL CC carriers (P0.05). Conclusions These results suggest that the LPL Ser 447Ter gene polymorphism is not associated with cerebral hemorrhage.
