Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression of c erbB 2 and lymph node metastasis in breast carcinoma and the significance of the differential diagnosis between benign and malignant breast deseases. Methods The expression of c erbB 2 was detected by immunohistochemical S P methods in 40 cases of breast carcinoma and 10 cases of benign breast diseases. Results The positive expression rate of c erbB 2 was 67.50% in breast carcinoma and 30.00% in benign breast diseases (P0.05).The positive expression rate of c erbB 2 was 86.30% in 22 cases of breast carcinoma with axilliaris lymph node metastasis and 44.44% in 18 cases of breast carcinoma without metastasis(P0.01).Conclusions Detection of c erbB 2 was of value to the differential diagnosis between benign and malignant breast diseases and in assessing the prognosis of breast carcinoma.[
