The study on the function of the public space in the rail traffic station:a case study of the People's Square Station of Shanghai metro

Rail traffic works as an important form of city transportation.Therefore,its station territory must have the service function of public traffic.Rail traffic has a lot of daily traffic and its station domain is the only link which contacts the outside world,so the domain will have certain cultural spreading funtions.The rail station provides commercial services,so the public space of rail transit station domain must have commercial functions.In this paper,the authors have divided Shanghai People's Square Station domain into two spaces-internal and external node layer,and analyzed the three functions of both internal and external node layer.
