Abstract
Ethyl acetate was synthesized by esterification of alcohol and acetic acid using solid superacid SO2-4/TiO2 catalyst. The preparation condition of catalyst was investigated. The experimental results showed that solid superacid had high catalytic activity in synthesis of ethyl acetate using 1 mol·L-1 H2SO4 impregnated TiO2 12 h,and then calcined at 400 ℃ for 2 h.The optimum reaction conditions were molar ration of alcohol to acetic acid 1.8:1,amount of catalyst 2.0 g,reaction temperature 80 ℃,and the yield of ethyl acetate reached 97% after reaction for 3 h.
