Abstract

Ethyl furcate was synthesized from a-furancarboxyic acid and ethanol with solid superacid SO42-/TiO2 as the catalyst. The optimum reaction conditions were as followed: the ratio of acid and ethanol 1 :4, the dosage of catalyst 1.5 g (0. 05 mol acid) , the reaction temperature 60 C , and the reaction time 6~7 hours.
