On Communicative Teaching Approach and College English Teaching

Abstract

Communicative Teaching Approach,which considers learners' communicative competence as the desired goal of foreign language learning,has been highly expected to be applied in the English classrooms in universities in China.However,the application of the approach in college English teaching is not so encouraging.The author probes into the reasons from the respective of teaching syllabus,teachers and learners.
