Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of the health education on the blood pressure of the community elderly hypertensive patients. Methods: Two hundred hypertensive patients in the community file management for the medication treatment were divided randomly into an intervention group and a control group. The control group was treated with the normal antihypertensive therapy, and the intervention group was treated with not only the normal antihypertensive therapy, but also with the health education intervention planned. After 1 year's intervention, the results of two groups were compared. Results: The knowledge about the disease, blood pressure control rate, and medication compliance of the intervention group were obviously improved after health intervention. The difference of the two groups was obvious(P0.05). Conclusion: Health education is an effective method to prevent and treat the blood pressure of the elderly hypertensive patients.
