Abstract

Objective To observe the effects of early treatment with simvastatin on the changes of serum lipids and the occurrence of ischemia events in acute coronary syndromes. Methods Forty patients with acute coronary syndromes were divided randomly into treatment group (n = 20 ) and control group ( n= 20 ).The levels of serum lipids and the occurrence of ischemia events were observed within 24 weeks. Results The serum lipids obviously dropped after treatment (P0.05) in the treatment group, while they were unchanged in the control group (P0.05). The occurrence of the ischemia events in treatment group was obviously lower than that in control group (χ 2=4.80,P=0.0285).The liver and kidney function and creatine kinase level were not found substantially changed in both groups before and after treatment. Conclusion Early treatment with simvastatin can obviously decrease the occurrence of the ischemia events for patients with acute coronary syndromes
