Abstract
Objective To study retrospectively the clinical effects and investigation of intraocular foreign bodies in the posterior segment which treated by vitrectomy. Methods Vitrectomy treated 37 patients(37 eyes) with intraocular foreign bodies in the posterior segment. Results Intraocular foreign bodies in the posterior segment were extracted successfully in all case, the cure rate is one hundred percent. Postoperation visual was 0.1 and better in 23 eyes, secondary glaucoma was one case, secondary intraocular hemorrhage, none suffered from decompensation of corneal endothelium and other serious complication. Conclusion Vitrectomy improved the cure rate of the extraction of intraocular foreign bodies in the posterior segment, and treated the complication. It is ideal method of remedy of intraocular foreign bodies in the posterior segment.
