A comparative between aripiprazole and clozapine in the treatment of schizophrenia.

Abstract

Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of aripiprazole in treatment schizophrenia.Method 100 inpatients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia according to CCMD-3 were involved in this study,they were randomly assigned to aripiprazole group and clozapine group for 8 weeks of treatment.Results After 8 weeks,the rate of obrious improvment was 72.34% and 67.8% respectively in two groups(P0.05).The reducing rate from the total score of PANSS was 69.3% and 67.8% respectively in two groups(P0.05).The total score and every subscore of PNASS were significant decreased in two groups after treatment(P0.01).At the end of treatment,the PANSS,subscores of negative symptoms in aripiprazole group were significantly lower than that in clozapine group(P0.01).The side effects of aripiprazole group were anxiety,headache,sleeplessness and gastro-intestine ais-order.Conclusion Aripiprazole is more efficacy and safety in the treatment of schizophrenia.
