Diagnostic value of different biopsies in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia

Abstract

Objective:To determine the veracity for diagnosis of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN) by routine biopsy under colposcopy.Methods:Loop electrosurgical excision procedure(LEEP)under colposcopic guidance was performed in an outpatient of colposcopic clinic.Records of 165 patients treated by LEEP between Jan 2001 and Dec 2005 were reviewed prospectively.Compare the pathologic outcome with routine biopsies under eolposcopy were analyzed retrospectively.Results:Of the 165 patients,there was a correlation in pathology between LEEP and multiple biopsies in 103 cases(62.24%).41 cases(24.85%) was low diagnosed in colposcopic multiple biopsies,15 patients of CIN3 With early invasive cancer after LEEP.Conclusion:Colposcopy has some localization for diagnosing CIN.LEEP may be recommended to determine cervical invasive cancer in high grade CIN.
