Clinical Analysis of the Therapeutic Effects of Endoscopic Sinus Surgery on 25 Cases with Mycosis of Nasal Sinus

Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy of endoscopic surgery in the diagnosis and treatment of mycosis of nasal sinus.Methods A retrospective method was adopted to study the 25 cases of mycosis of nasal sinus in our hospital from Jan 2002 to Jun 2004.In the study,25 cases were treated with functional endoscopic sinus surgery(FESS).Results 25 cases were cured and pathological diagnosis was obtained after operation with no reoccurrence during the follow-up from 6 months to 2 years.Conclusions Endoscopic Sinus Surgery is very effective for surgical treatment of this kind of lesion.CT Scanning of Paranasal Sinus is an effective way for early diagnosis.To treat this disease successfully,the key is to solve the ventilation and drainage of paranasal sinus.
