Clinical study on 17 cases with nasal sinus mycosis

Objective To investigate the efficacy of endoscopic sinus surgery in the diagnosis and treatment of nasal sinus mycosis.Methods A retrospective study was carried out among 17 cases with nasal sinus mycosis treated by endoscopic sinus surgery in our hospital.Results All these cases were seen with no significant specific differences in symptoms and signs with that of cases with common chronic sinusitis,while the specific morphological manifestation could be determined by CT scanning preoperatively performed among the patients with sinus mycosis.This group of cases was all treated by endoscopic sinus surgery,with no one reoccurred as determined by the end of following up period lasted for one to four years.Conclusions Preoperative CT scanning holds very significant diagnostic effect on nasal sinus mycosis and endoscopic sinus surgery is very effective for surgical treatment of this kind of lesion.
