Expression and relevant of c-Met and MMP-2 in epithelial ovarian cancer

Abstract

Objective To detect the expression and biological behavior of hepatocyte growth factor receptor(c-Met)and matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2)in epithelial ovarian cancers.Methods The expression of c-Met and MMP-2 were examined by immunohistochemical S-P staining method in 50 cases with epithelial ovarian cancer,15 cases with borderline epithelial ovarian tumors,20 cases with benign epithelial ovarian tumors and 20 cases with normal ovarian tissue.Results The positive expression of c-Met and MMP-2 in epithelial ovarian cancers were 84.0% and 86.0% and they were related to the pathological and clinical stage,but had no relationship with histological type.There was positive correlation between the expression of c-Met and MMP-2(P0.05).Conclusions The expression of c-Met and MMP-2 were closely related to the progress of epithelial ovarian cancer which might be useful factors of proliferation,metastasis and prognosis of epithelial ovarian cancer.
