Endoscopic transnasal resection for tuberculum sellae meningioma

Abstract

Objective To investigate the feasibility of endoscopic transnasal excision for tuberculum sellae meningioma.Methods Clinical data of six patients with tuberculum sellae meningioma treated by endoscopic transnasal excision was analyzed retrospectively.Results Of all the 6 cases,tumors were totally removed in 5 cases and subtotally removed in one.Vision got improved in 4 cases,remained unchanged in one and deteriorated in one.Transient cerebrospinal leakage occurred in one case.Conclusion Endoscopic transnasal resection for tuberculum sellae meningioma is an effective,safe and mini-invasive approach.
