The microsurgical treatment for taberculum sellae meningioma

Objective To investigate the microsurgical treatment for tuberculum sellae meningioma.Methods From March 2008 to 2010 adopted on December microsurgical treatment of 38 patients with tuberculum sellae meningioma were summarized.Results 38 cases of tuberculum sellae meningiomas,total resection were 35 cases(92.10%),subtotal removal in 3 cases(7.90%).31 patients recovered well after surgery,excellent rate of 81.57%,5 patients with moderate disability,2 cases of severe disability.Conclusion Microsurgical tuberculum sellae correct choice of surgical treatment of surgical approach,the full removal of the tumor capsule,carefully separating the tumor and surrounding tissue,intraoperative attention to the protection of the optic nerve and major blood vessels,can achieve good clinical results.
