Abstract
Objective To study the application value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in focal liver lesions. Methods Clinical data of 45 patients with at least one focal liver lesion detected by contrastenhanced ultrasound in Qujing First People's Hospital from Oct. 2010 to Oct. 2012 was retrospectively analyzed. All the patients had diagnostic results from operation or ultrasound-guided biopsy and pathological diagnosis,as well as diagnostic results based on other imaging methods and clinical data. During more than 6months' follow-up,the diagnostic accuracy of benign and malignant focal liver lesions and performance of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in the diagnosis of benign and malignant focal liver lesions were compared. Results The accuracy of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in the diagnosis of benign and malignant focal liver lesions was 97. 9%( 46 /47),94. 7%( 18 /19) respectively. Concerning the performance of contrast-enhanced ultrasound, the starting time and time to peak of malignant enhancement was early, but faded fast, with the characteristics of ″fast in fast out″,while the starting time of benign enhancement was leveled off and the fade time appeared late. Conclusion Contrast-enhanced ultrasound can diagnose malignant focal liver accurately,it has great potential for application in ultrasonic department of primary hospitals.
