Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical value of Tei index derived from tissue Doppler imaging(TDI)in assessing the right ventricular function in patients with congenital heart disease. Methods A total of 60 patients were divided into three sub-groups:severe,mild and moderate,no pulmonary hypertension group according to pulmonary arterial systolic pressure(PASP).Right ventricular(RV)Tei index in each subject was measured by TDI during a week before and after operation, during three months and six months after operation. Results Before operation,RV Tei index of severe pulmonary arterial hypertension group, mild and moderate pulmonary arterial hypertension group increased compared with no pulmonary hypertension group(P0.01,P0.05).Compared with preoperation,RV Tei index of mild and moderate pulmonary arterial hypertension group decreased a week after operation(P0.05).Compared with a week after operation, only the RV Tei index of severe pulmonary arterial hypertension group decreased significantly three months after operation and six months after operation(P0.05).There was good correlation between the result of DTI-Tei and PASP.Conclusion DTI-Tei index is sensitive to reflect the changes of right ventricular function in patients with congenital heart disease.Combined with PASP,it can be used for general and dynamic evaluation of right ventricular function.
