Confucius' influence on Sima Qian's choice of ancient myths and legends

Abstract

Sima Qian adopted a lot of old myths and legends to make up for lack of ShangGuShi in Shi Ji.His choice of old myths and legends are not only affected by cancelation of background,his personal experience,love and the historical records to creation principle and effect,but also favored by purpose of Confucius's thought.In Sima Qian's old myths and legends processing process,Confucius' view of destiny,Fu Rui thought,the spring and autumn materials and contribution to history also played a very important role.The context of it helps to our understanding of Chinese culture evolution course.
