Emergency management of blunt pancreatoduodenal injury

Objective To investigate the emergency management of combined pancreatoduodenal injuries with serious abdominal trauma.Methods From Jan.1998 to Apr.2007,117 cases with serious blunt abdominal injury were undergone operative exploration,5 cases were combined pancreatoduodenal injury.Re-sults The rate of combined pancreatoduodenal injury in blunt abdominal injury was 4.3%.Five cases all were successfully cured by operation,one case complicated with duodenal leakage received conservative treat-ment according to different pancreatic injury.Two cases of pancreatic rupture had good result through different managements.Conclusion The key to successful save the patients is early operation to repair the injury and effective drainge.The blood polluted by enzyme can be autorefusion in emergency situation.
