Influence of Tongxinluo in hemodynamics in patients with transient ischemic attack in vertebrobasilar artery system

Abstract
AIM: To probe the influence of Tongxinluo in hemodynamics in patients with transient ischemic attack(TIA) in vertebrobasilar artery system. METHODS: Sixty six patients with TIA in vertebrobasilar artery system were divided into two groups by 60 a old. Each patient was treated with Tongxinluo capsule 1.52 g, po , tid. The course of treatment was 4 wk. Changes of hemodynamics in patients with TIA were examined before and after treatment. RESULTS: Blood flow velocity increased significantly( P 0.05 or 0.01) in VA[senile group left and right were(4± s 11)cm·s -1 , (4±12)cm·s -1 respectively, middle aged group were (5±10)cm·s -1 , (5±11)cm·s -1 respectively], BA[senile group was (6±15)cm·s -1 , middle aged group was (4±10)cm·s -1 ] in patients with TIA after treatment with Tongxinluo. PI reduced significantly( P 0.05) in VA, BA in senile patients with TIA after treatment with Tongxinluo. There were not any adverse reactions during the treatment. CONCLUSION: Tongxinluo is an effective drug in patients with TIA and it can prevent ischemic stroke efficaciously.
