Effect of Tongxinluo capsule on cerebral blood flow and hemorheology in patients with chronic cerebral ischemia

Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of Tongxinluo capsule on cerebral blood flow and hemorheology in patients with chronic cerebral ischemia.Methods 88 cases with chronic cerebral ischemia were randomly divided into control group(n=43) and treatment group(n=45).Patients in control group were treated by combination of routine therapy and Nimodipine(40mg,three times a day).Patients in treatment group were treated by combination of routine therapy and Tongxinluo capsule(4 pills,three times a day).The therapeutic course was 30 days in both groups.The effect was observed in two courses.Meaning blood flow rate and pulsatility index(PI) of middle cerebral artery(MCA),anterior cerebral artery(ACA),posterior cerebral artery(PCA),vertebral artery(VA) and basal artery(BA) were detected by transcranial Doppler(TCD).Results Cerebral blood flow in treatment group was obviously improved.Indexes detected by TCD in treatment group were superior to those in control group(P0.01,P0.05).The total effective rate in treatment group(100%) was higher than that in control group(79.07%,P0.01).Conclusion Tongxinluo capsule has a good effect on cerebral blood flow and hemorheology in patients with chronic cerebral ischemia.
