Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of noninvasive positive pressure ventilation( NPPV) on acute cardiogenic pulmonary edema. Methods Forty-eight patients with acute respiratory failure due to acute cardiogenic pulmonary edema were treated by NPPV. The variation of heart rate and percutaneous oxygen saturation were observed. The blood gas analysis was compared before treatment and 2 hours after treatment. Results The symptoms of the patients were significantly alleviated including hypoxia,heart palpitations,breathing difficulties and cyanosis,and the NYHA decreased significantly( P 0. 01). Conclusion NPPV has therapeutic advantages and significant effect in the treatment of acute respiratory failure due to acute cardiogenic pulmonary edema. It is of certain clinical value and is worth popularizing.
