The Application of Human Epididymis Protein 4 in Diagnosis of Endometrial Cancer

Objective:To explore the diagnostic values of serum human epididymis protein 4(HE4) levels in endometrial cancer.Methods:Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay(ELISA) technique was applied to detect serum HE4 levels in 403 healthy women and 30 patients of endometrial cancer.The diagnostic values of serum HE4 levels were analyzed.Results:Mean serum HE4 level in endometrial cancer was 97.12±51.12 pmol/L,much higher than the level of 40.04±9.59 pmol/L in healthy women(P0.01).In endometrial cancer group,the serum level of HE4 was positively correlated with age,myometrial invasion and size of tumor.But it was not correlated with tumor grade,histology and FIGO stage.In healthy control group,the serum level of HE4 was 39.45±8.90 pmol/L for women younger than 60 years,which was much lower than that of 49.79±14.49 pmol/L for women older than 60 years(P0.01).Conclusions:Serum HE4 level detection may assist the diagnosis and predicting the prognosis of endometrial cancer.
