The Expression of p73 and p53 Protein and its Significance in Gastric Carcinoma

Objective To study the expression of p73、p53 protein in gastric carcinoma and relationship between their expression and clinic pathological characteristics.Methods Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of p73,p53 protein in 42 cases of gastric carcinoma,22 chronic superficial gastritis,26 chronic atrophic gastritis,19 gastric ulcer and 20 atypical hyperplasia.The data of these protein expression and clinic pathological observation were statistically analyzed.Results The positive rates of expression of p73 and p53 protein in gastric carcinoma were 40.48% and 54.76% respectively.Compared with those in chronic superficial gastritis group,chronic atrophic gastritis group,gastric ulcer group and atypical hyperplasia group,the statistical difference was significant(P0.05).The expression rate of p53 protein was positively related with the differentiation of gastric cancer,depth of invasion of gastric mucosa,lymph node metastasis(P0.05).The expression rate of p73 protein was positively related with differentiation of gastric cancer(P0.05).No significant relationship was observed between p73 protein expression and depth of invasion of gastric mucosa and lymph node metastasis(P0.05);The positive correlation was present between p73 and p53 protein expression in gastric cancer.Conclusions Expression of p73 and p53 protein was obvious high in gastric cancer.Perhaps Both of p73 and p53 protein participate in the development of gastric cancer.
