Expression of p27 and Its Clinical Significance in Gastric Carcinoma

Objective To study the expression of p27 protein in gastric carcinoma and its relation to the clinicopathological features. Methods p27 protein expression in 62 cases of human gastric carcinoma and in 20 cases of stomach benign disease were examined with SP immunohistochemical staining.p27 protein expression were analysed together with its relation to clinic pathological feature Results The positive rate of p27 protein in stomach benign disease was 100%(20/20) and 41.9%(26/62) in gastric carcinoma.Its expression difference in two type tissues was no significance statistically(P0.05).In no seromembranous involvement group and free lymph node metastatic group,the possitive expresion rate of p27 protein was higher than that in the group with seromembranous involvement or penetration and with lymph node metastasis respectively (P0.05).Conclusion p27 participates in the progression of gastric carcinoma and may become an important prognostic factor.
