Abstract
48 weaning piglets of three-line crossbred(Duroc×Yorkshire×Landrace)during twenty-seven to twenty-nine days old were used to study the effect of wheat based diet supplemented by xylanase on growth, metabolism and some blood physiological and biochemical parameters. These piglets were divided into three groups named GroupⅠ,GroupⅡ and GroupⅢ to be fed with corn based die t,wheat based diet and wheat based diet supplemented with 0.02% xylanase for 28days respectively(pretreatment 6 days). The result showed that compared with group Ⅱt,he average daily gain of group I piglet increased by 5.38%(p0.05) and that of groupⅢ piglet increased by 8.52%(p0.05),but xylanase had no effect on feed-gain ratio.Meanwhile, the result of blood physiological and biochemical parameters indicated that, the serum urea nitrogen(SUN) contents of group Ⅱde creased significantly(p0.01),the levels of serum gastrin and T4 increased significantly(p0.05),and the levels of glucose decreased significantly(p0.05),other parameters had no significant changes compared with that of group Ⅱ.The levels of SUN increased significantly in GroupⅢ compared with GroupⅡ(p0.01),the levels of glucose,T4,interleukin-2(IL-2) and serum gastrin in blood were increased(p0.05).T3 levels tend to be increasing, however insulin levels towards slightly decreasing. These results suggested that wheat based diets supplemented with xylanase could increase piglet average daily gain significantly, even exceeding that with corn based diets, which was obtained by influencing its metabolism and immunity.
