Abstract
The experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of diet supplemented with glucose oxidase(GOD) on the growth performance,faecal microflora and serum biochemical parameters and hormone contents of piglets.A total of one hundred and twelve 35-day-old piglets were randomly assigned to two groups with four replicates per group and fourteen piglets per replicate.Piglets in control group were fed a basal diet,and piglets in test group were fed the basal diet supplemented with 100 g/t GOD.The test lasted for 35 d.The results showed that average daily gain and average daily feed intake of piglets in GOD group were significantly better than those in the control group(P 0.05).The ratio of feed to gain of piglets in GOD group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P 0.05).As for the number of Salmonella in faecal,the GOD group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P 0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in serum biochemical parameters(contents of serum glucose,albumin,globulin,total protein and the ratio of albumin to globulin)(P 0.05).The contents of triiodothyronine(T3),thyroxine(T4) and growth hormone of piglets in GOD group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P0.05).The experiment indicated that the contents of serum relational hormones,intestinal health and growth performance of piglets can be effectively improved by diet supplemented 100 g/t GOD.
