Clinical study on efficacy of Jieyu pill combined with Shugan Xieyu capsule in treatment of depression

Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of Jieyu Pill combined with ShuGan capsule in the treatment of depression. Methods Total 116 cases of depression were selected and randomly divided into the control group and the observation group with 58 cases in each group. The control group was given paroxetine while the observation group was given Jieyu Pill and ShuGan jieyu capsule for 6 months. The clinical curative effect,Hamilton depression rating scale( HAMD),Clinical Global Impression( CGI) scale,depression self-rating scale( SDS) score and the side effects scale( TESS) rating were compared between the two groups. Results The cure rate and the total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than those of the control group( P 0. 05 or 0. 01); HAMD and CGI-SI,and SDS score in both groups decreased significantly after the treatment( P 0. 05 or 0. 01),and the observation group was improved dramatically after 2 weeks of treatment as compared with the control group( P 0. 05); The incidence of adverse reactions and TESS score of the observation group were significantly lower than the control group( P 0. 05 or 0. 01).Conclusion The clinical effect of Jieyu Pill combined with ShuGan JieYu capsule for depression is remarkable,and with fewer side effect,and the patients' quality of sleep can be improved.
