Clinical observation of Shugan Jieyu capsule combined with fluoxetine on the treatment of depression

Objective To study the efficacy and safety of Shugan Jieyu capsule combined with fluoxetine on the treatment of depression.Methods A total of 68 patients with depression were randomly assigned to two groups for 12weeks treatment.Treatment group(n=34) received combination of Shugan Jieyu capsule and fluoxetine,the control group(n=34) received single drug of fluoxetine.The curative effect and adverse reaction were evaluated by the HAMD-17 and TESS at the baseline and 1,2,4,8 and 12 week after treatment.Results The total effective rate in treatment group is 88.2% and that of control group was 73.5%,there was significant difference between two groups(P0.01).Since the first two weeks after treatment,there was significant difference between the two groups in the scores of HAMD-17(P0.05).There was no significant difference in the scores of TESS between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion s The efficacy of Shugan Jieyu capsule combined with fluoxetine on the treatment of depression is better than that of fluoxetine alone and the treatment is high safety.
