The Application of Task-based Approach to the Teaching of College English Reading

Abstract

Reading is the key of college English teaching.This paper begins with the theory of the task-based approach and probes into its application to the teaching of college English reading,that is,dividing the teaching process into three stages: pre-reading stage,reading stage and post-reading stage,and stimulating the students' interest in learning English by leaving assignments in class so as to improve students' language application and understanding ability.Besides,it discusses the practical applied effect of the task-based approach in teaching college English reading and the existing problems as well.
