Curative Observation of Using the Ear-acupoint-compression to Prevent and Cure the Bladder Spasm after TURP Surgery

Objective:To observe the clinical effect and safety of the ear-acupoint-compression on treating bladder spasm after TURP surgery.Methods:A total of 61 BPH patients who had been treated by transurethral resection of the prostate( TURP) were divided into experimental group( 31 patients),treated by basic routine nursing combining with ear-acupointcompression,which start from 24 hours before the operation,and controlled group( 30 patients),treated by basic routine nursing only.Each group was observed in the times and strength of the cystospasm,and the postoperation pain during 72 hours after the surgery.The flashing liquor clearing time,bladder-flashing days and the hospitalization period would also be compared.Results:In this study,the incidence of bladder spasm was lower in the experimental group( 43%) than the controlled group( 58%) with statistically significant difference.And it was notable effective on preventing the pain,shorting the washing time and decreasing the days in hospital.Conclusion:Ear-acupoint-compression has a notable effect to provide and cure the bladder spasm after TURP surgery.It can ease the pain and cut down the bleeding after the surgery,and is an effective traditional Chinese medicine treatment for bladder spasm.
