Cognition and Translation of Metaphor

Metaphor's essence is to comprehend and experience one thing through another. Therefore metaphor is semantic interaction of the two cognition fields. There're three essential factors of metaphor which are tenor, vehicle and ground. On the basis of the analysis on the three features of a metaphor and its cognition methods, this article presents a research into the fundamental theories and some techniques of metaphor translation such as reservation of the image, conversion of the image, and abandonment of the image.
