On Liang Qi-chao's Poetics Theory and the Modern Transformation of Chinese Poetics

Liang Qi-chao's poetics theory and the modern transformation of Chinese poetics have not yet got enough attention of the academic circles.His early theory mainly focused on innovation elaborated in three aspects including article conception,statement,and style,which guided the new trend while contained theory crisis at the same time.His later theory concentrated on aesthetic subjects,the advocacy of emotional expression,the comparison between classical Chinese and vernacular,and the elaboration of the new verse, which reflected his thinking about the problems existing in the process of the development of Chinese new verse.In conclusion,Liang Qi-chao makes a unique contribution to the modern transformation of Chinese poetics.
