A prospective study of calcium hydroxide intracanal medicament against endodontic interappointment emergency

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of calcium hydroxide(CH) intracanal medicament against endodontic interappintment emergencies(IAE).Methods 200 patients with 200 teeth were undergoing root canal therapy(RCT) and then divided into 4 groups.CMCP group,FC group,IPI group and CH group,intracanal medicament were CMCP,FC,IPI and CH with the 4 groups.Results The respectives IAE frequencies of the 4 group were 22.0 %, 28.0 %, 26.0 %, 4.0 % which were statistical significant(P 0.01 );And pain index of the 4 groups were statistical significance too(P 0.01 ).Conclusion CH can prevent IAE in RCT.
