Dyeing properties of PLA fabric with vat dyes

Abstract

Vat pink R was used to dye PLA fabric.Effects of pH value of dye bath,dyeing temperature and time,the amount of urea on dyeing depth(K/S) were discussed.The optimum condition of PLA fiber dyeing was 110 ℃,pH value 5,and 30 minutes.Dyeing depth was increased by adding urea.Vat pink R showed excellent building-up property on PLA fiber.Color fastness to rubbing and washing and light can reach a high level at different dye concentrations.
