The Deconstruction of Humanism Spirit in Online Verse

Online verse is a new poetic pattern written, disseminated, stored and read by means of network, a new medium. Compared with ordinary poems, online poems are more reflective of their deconstruction of traditional humanism spirit viewed from their development in Mainland China over the past ten-odd years. The anonymous writing style of online poems has renounced the poet's principal part as the author and subverted the humanism values in traditional poems. Moreover, the pattern of online poems being read on the computer screen has deprived readers of their poetic experience in reading ordinary poems. With the rise of electronic media, verse has been placed in the context of the global transmission of popular culture, and new Chinese verse of inherently deficiency and postnatal imbalance can better use such a golden opportunity to realize its revival in art.
