Abstract

Objective: To measure the concentration of inflammatory markers in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD) and explore its function in atherosclerosis(As)of coronary heart disease. Methods:The concentration of C-reactive protein(CRP) was measured with nephelometry, and the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6) were determined with ELISA.Then the values of them were compared with that in normal controls. Results: The plasma CRP,TNF-α and IL-6 levels in patients with unstable angina pectoris and acute myocardial infarction were markedly higher than that in patients with stable angina pectoris and normal controls(P0.05 or P0.01),but the concentrations of inflammatory markers were similar in group of stable angina pectoris and normal controls(P0.05).Conclusion: CRP,TNF-α and IL-6 interact, they may play an important role in occurrence and development of atherosclerosis in coronary heart disease. It is of great importance for coronary heart disease to monitor the concentration of inflammatory markers.
