Abstract
The population suburbanization has been a triumphal tendency in cities of western countries after World War Ⅱ.In China,some mega-cities such as Beijing and Shanghai also have some characteristics of suburbanization after 1980.Study on population distribution and suburbanization is a hot topic in urban geography in China in recent years.This paper first gives a summary of literature and analyzes theories on population distribution and suburbanization,then does a empirical study of population distribution and suburbanization of Wuhan city based on the 4th and 5th population census data and questionnaire.
