Analysis on Situation of Tuberculosis Detection and Treatment in Longyan from 2001 to 2005

[Objective]To evaluate progress of the TB control program implementation in Longyan in order to summarize successful experiences,find and solve the most pressing problems,and ensure the successful implementation of TB control plan.[Methods]To analyze the data of tuberculosis detection and treatment in Longyan from 2001 to 2005.[Results]The new registered case of active tuberculosis was 7 866,among which smear positive was 5 146,including 3 974 new smear positive cases from 2001 to 2005 at whole prefecture.The new registered rate of active tuberculosis,smear positive and new smear positive tuberculosis were 54.3,35.5 and 27.4 per 100 000 respectively.4 457 smear positive tuberculosis cases were treated and 3 931 cases were cured.The cured rate of smear positive tuberculosis was 88.2% percent,among which the cured rate of new smear positive and re-treated smear positive ones were 90.2% and 81.6% respectively.[Conclusion]The medium-term target of local TB control program was completed on the whole in Longyan prefecture of Fujian province.
