Abstract

The effects of four kinds of edible liquor made in Guizhou on liver functions of Sprague-Dawley rats were investigated in this study. Four kinds of 53 %vol edible liquor of different quality were divided into No.1, No.2, No.3 and No.4 liquor, 62 healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into nine groups: high dose/low dose No.1 liquor group, high dose/low dose No.2 liquor group, high dose/low dose No.3 liquor group, high dose/low dose No.4 liquor group, and normal saline control group. All rats in liquor groups underwent intragastric administration of liquor for 2 months with high dose of8mL mL/kg·d and low dose of 4 mL mL/kg·d. After final intragastric administration, fasting practiced for 12 hours, then live tissue was removed to make a liver biopsy, and after Sudan dyeing slice and Masson dyeing slice, the morphological change in liver was observed, meanwhile, serum was extracted to measure liver functions by colorimetric method. The experimental results suggested that, liver cells degeneration, liver fatty degeneration, and liver fibrosis worsened gradually with the increase of liquor dose for each group(the change of liver fibrosis was comparatively better for group of No.2 liquor and liver cells degeneration for group of No.4 liquor was the worst); Compared with control group, the content of ATL,AST,r-GT in serum of rats of liquor groups were significantly higher(p0.05),and there was significant difference among low dose groups and among high dose groups statistically(p0.05), however, there was no difference statistically between high dose group and low dose group for intragastic administration of the same liquor(p0.05). Two months intragastric administration of liquor could induce morphological change of rats' liver and damage rats' liver and the changing degree was related to liquor varieties and liquor dose.
