Breeding and utilization of a new early hybrid rice combination T You 15 with early to medium maturity and high grain yield.

T You 15,derived from T98A,a fine quality CMS line,and R15,a new restorer line,is a new three-line early hybrid rice combination developed by the Hunan Huaihua Aopulong Crop Breeding Engineering Institute.It has a good integrated characteristic and a high and stable yield.In 2006 and 2007,it yielded averagely 7.3 t/hm2,4.32% higher than the check hybrid Zhe 733 in the National Early Rice Regional Trials of the South Rice Growing Area.It showed a strong stress resistance,suitable early maturity,wide adaptability and easiness in hybrid seed production.It was certified and released by the State Crop Variety Appraisal Committee in November,2007.The breeding procedure,major characteristics and the key techniques of cultivation and hybrid seed production of T You 15 were introduced in this paper.
